The Team
In the spring of 1998, Hartmut ‘Happu’ Krenz, Cordula Paulsen and Rüdiger Paulsen decided to organise their very own twisting event here in germany. Their aim was to make an event organised for twisters by twisters with no background commercial interests. In that very year the first ever Euro Jam took place in the autumn in the town of Melle and had over 50 twisters from across Europe attending. This success motivated them to carry on organising the Euro Jam every year.
Tom Bola (Thomas Hinte) one of the original ‘50’ stole the show that year with his juggling display at the Gala evening, and was persuaded to organise the Gala evenings and to be the compere. Tom always manages to produce a super show and has been known to ‘press gang’ reluctant entertainers and sometimes Happu and Rüdiger to strut their stuff at the gala evening. Tom never takes no for an answer and this is the key to his success.
Reiner Stoppert, another of the original ‘50’, is our in-house caretaker, and ensures that the seminars rooms are kept in good order, also that the teachers have what they need to teach, and generally helps out where he can. Reiner is the master of improvisation almost as good as the famed McGyver.
Erika Rüde, is the Euro Jams very first twister to register for the very first Jam and theirfore qualifies for VIP status. Erika has seen it all over the years and is a mine of information and that is why she never leaves the ‘Info stand’ during the whole 3 days of the Jam.
Finally we have Biggi and Mark Osborne, who have been our invited Distributor from the outset and have given their support as co-organisors of our Jam and also sponsor the Jam Hall balloon décor every year. They also are in close liason with Happu and they build the decor days before the Jam starts.
